Saint Clare of Assisi is known for being a close follower of Saint Francis of Assisi, founding the Poor Clares, a monastic order for women in the Franciscan tradition emphasizing a life of poverty and service, and for her strong faith and leadership. Her famous words were “We become who we love and who we love shapes who we become”.


St. Clare of Assisi is the Patron Saint of television. During a period of illness, she reportedly saw and heard the Mass, even though she was unable to attend, as if it were taking place in her own room, a "vision from afar".
